Since we‘re enjoying the cease-fire so much, I took the time to do medical stuff. I had a visit with an endocrinologist (who modified my meds), and with a gastroenterologist (who did that unspeakable probe). I‘m happy to report I don‘t need to revisit the gastro for another five years; but I‘m ''unhappy'' to report that the substance known as [https://www.drugs.com/moviprep.html “Moviprep”] is the Devil‘s own punishment — avoid it, if at all possible!

Due to all that, I was not particularly active this week, though I did get my [https://ronware.org/img/newstarter.jpeg sourdough starter] restarted (not as quickly as my friend did, but one can‘t have everything). I intend to resume the bakery next week, B“H. Esther went back to her normal once-a-week in-office work (and from home the rest, as usual).

I also spent more time on my [https://mechon-mamre.org/i/en/0.htm translation project], and was contacted by some of my fellow-travelers who had begun a similar project. Small Rambamist world!

I realized this week that I‘ve been using [https://www.vim.org the vim editor] for at least 30 years now, after looking at some of the scripts I wrote and seeing they were written two decades ago. So I‘ve been modernizing my scripts, and my vimming is even better than ever!

We went into Jerusalem (for my gastro appt), taking advantage of the “light rail”. That‘s by far the best way to get into the central area. Since we were close-by, we also stopped in at the [https://en.machne.co.il “shuq”] and got a few things. It was actually our first joint trip out of the house since the war began. SAD!

The weather this ''shabbat'' is supposed to be about average for the season, after the several days of heat-wave we‘ve had this week. We‘re looking forward to continued quiet, and tasty vittles.

This ''shabbat'' our menu consists of:
 
store-bought bread (really, Ron?!?),
''arroz con pollo'',
artichokes,
various roast vegetables,
various ''salatim'',
and cookies.
