We spent shabbat in Haifa as I mentioned we<br /> would last week, and got to the customs office there early so we could free our<br /> shipment. They told us we would get our shipment by Thursday at the latest; we<br /> actually got it Tuesday - finally, something moved faster than we&#039;re expecting!<br /> <br /> Most of this week has been spent lugging boxes from here to there, unpacking and<br /> trying to find a good spot for each item. I would like to report I lost weight<br /> from all the physical activity, but not just yet...<br /> <br /> Daniela arrived on Monday, and we met up with her at the Kotel (the Western<br /> Wall) and had dinner with her. She was exhausted from her trip, and we were<br /> tired from our Haifa excursion so it made for interesting table conversation.<br /> But B&quot;H, she made it and now the Aaron family is together again (more or less,<br /> she&#039;s in Jerusalem and we&#039;re about an hour&#039;s bus ride away from where she is).<br /> <br /> Now that the house is filled (literally) with our stuff, it is beginning to<br /> actually feel like home again. Even more so since I stuffed our empty boxes<br /> with the packing paper, and have been building a sound-insulation wall between<br /> us and the neighbors downstairs. The woman there has a shrieking scream that I<br /> am sure can wake the dead - and she screams all the time. But now, B&quot;H, thanks<br /> to the RonWare &quot;Let Me Sleep (tm) Sound Barrier&quot;, life has improved here.<br /> <br /> Sarah began her school this Thursday, much to her chagrin. It seems that<br /> although it&#039;s a much bigger school than the one she came from (27 in her class,<br /> which is one of three in tenth grade), it is no better organized than the Chabad<br /> school was. I guess it&#039;s a Jewish thing... She has made some acquaintances,<br /> and one of the girls we met over Shabbat two weeks ago is in her class and can<br /> give her help understanding what&#039;s going on. <br /> <br /> This shabbat we are staying home, and having home-style food (our home, that<br /> is!). We are really looking forward to that. It&#039;s a learning process,<br /> figuring out how things should be arranged, what works, what doesn&#039;t. We&#039;ll be<br /> trying out a new synagogue tonight and tomorrow - it&#039;s almost next-door, which<br /> is a big win with the heat being so ferocious right now.
