This week’s irritating adventure: I drove all the way to Ḥadera to get flour to make ''matza'', a three-and-a-half-hour round-trip. Once back home, I checked the flour packages and it turned out I had not mentioned to the seller I wanted KLP (kosher for passover) flour! A waste of half a day, since I can’t use the flour I got. I talked to the seller, and they’ll try to arrange a swap in the next week; if they can’t, I’ll have to make the trip again since I do need the flour.

While Amazon’s new policy requiring “Prime” vendors to provide 6-day service may not be specifically antisemitic, it is [https://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/297256 adversely affecting religious Jews] in particular. That’s nothing, though, compared to the recent spate of hate from the likes of NBC. The “Saturday Night Live” show — which once upon a time was funny — had no problem [https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/thank-you-michael-che airing a frankly antisemitic segment]. That same network, on the show “Nurses”, aired an [https://jewinthecity.com/2021/02/nbc-needs-to-apologize-for-their-libelous-portrayal-of-hasidic-jews-in-nurses/ even more egregiously antisemitic] segment.

Things are not “good for the Jews” in the Goldene Medina. And I’m afraid this is the tip of the iceberg. Once antisemitism is “mainstreamed” like this, history shows bad things are inevitably going to happen. It’s time to leave.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out, though it looks like their suit has some strength.
* “Disney Plus” is now presenting disclaimers before airing episodes of [https://tv.avclub.com/18-episodes-of-the-muppet-show-have-content-disclaimers-1846321838 The Muppet Show]. Because that’s how stupid the world has become.

* And Matt Walsh has some [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srFnuv34zYE relationship advice] for the Reddit crowd. Just in time for Purim.

So Purim is happening! But our gov’t has indeed [https://www.jpost.com/health-science/coronavirus-and-purim-in-israel-these-are-the-rules-this-year-660138 implemented restrictions] as I had thought they would. If you’re in Israel and celebrating Purim, let me know if you’re following the restrictions, or if you (like many, I expect) are going to use your own judgement…

In any event, because Purim falls on Friday, we’ve had to make preparations for shabbat on Thursday.

This week we made a “test order” of organic produce from [https://bensfarm.co.il/shopping/ Ben’s Farm], since they deliver to our area. Though the delivery took place rather late in the evening, the produce was exceptionally good! I’m very impressed: if you’re in the Jerusalem area, check them out.

The weather’s been pleasant, somewhat cloudy with a touch of rain now and then. It’s supposed to remain about the same this coming week.
