{{blog}} {{comment|Jun 5th}}

It’s sure been a wild week in the world! But first, a bit about us:

We don’t have anything too exciting to say. We saw Sarah and heard about her new (for her) store and how things are going in general. We heard from Daniela that they are planning on returning to NY beginning of the coming week. Esther and I worked. My mom breezed through a pile of crossword puzzles. I snaked out our sewer line.

Israel’s been pretty relaxed lately, for the Middle East. Not so the USA…

We were in turns dismayed, shocked, appalled, and revolted by the news coming out of our former country. And if things don’t improve, it may indeed become a “former country”. We fear for the safety of our family, friends, and coreligionists in the US. Neither a joke nor an exaggeration: it’s [https://www.timesofisrael.com/la-jews-take-stock-after-george-floyd-protests-batter-local-institutions/ getting real over there]. The NYT [http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/281239 isn’t helping] either.

As always, we ''strongly'' urge our fellow Jews to come home to the Land, as soon as possible!

Trump [https://nypost.com/2020/05/31/trump-tweets-antifa-will-be-designated-a-terrorist-group/ tweeted] the US would label “Antifa” a terrorist group. Which it is, indeed. You may be unaware that it’s [https://myrightword.blogspot.com/2020/06/antifa-in-mandate-palestine.html been around a long time], started by Bolshevik agitators nearly a hundred years ago. But according to the MSM, Antifa is “non-violent” and “anti-Fascist”. Sure: tell that to the people they’ve sent to the hospitals and the businesses they’ve destroyed.

Some food for thought:
* Two black guys opine on the rioting. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrlZW-WuSik Kevin] from “Kevin’s Corner”, and [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moKKbavJ7ao Lucas] from “The Amazing Lucas”. Both are conservatives, so you surely haven’t heard their voices echoed in the MSM since apparently “black” and “conservative” are antonyms.
* The “justification” for the rioting [https://www.nationalreview.com/2020/06/the-sole-justification-offered-for-the-riots-is-a-fiction/ is a fiction] not supported by statistics. In fact: being killed by cops in the US is rare, and about equally likely for blacks and whites.
* Tucker Carlton [https://video.foxnews.com/v/6160972334001#sp=show-clips lambastes all the “leaders”], from all sides of the political spectrum.
* Please! Spare me your [https://www.23andme.com/blackout-tuesday sanctimonious pearl-clutching]. I don’t need CEOs to posture and make “statements”. I need them to provide goods and services I can use at prices I can afford. Same with [https://twitter.com/i/status/1268222464850563075 “celebrities”]: just shut up and entertain, you’re not as important, smart, or informed as you think you are.
* Despite everything, it looks like the US economy is [https://www.politico.com/news/2020/05/26/2020-election-democrats-281470 headed for a rebound] in time for the elections, which makes the D party very nervous indeed.
* In a first for the kleptocracy, the PA [http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/281314 refuses to accept] tax revenue from Israel.
* Um, what? Seems the “study” which “debunked” the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine for treating COVID-19 was [https://arstechnica.com/science/2020/06/doubt-looms-over-hydroxychloroquine-study-that-halted-global-trials/ seriously flawed], according to the “Lancet”.
* Can 2020 [https://www.dailywire.com/news/can-2020-get-crazier-you-bet-were-just-getting-started get any crazier]? Yes, yes it can!

People: unless you’re living in Sudan or something, you’ve almost certainly never owned nor been a slave. You never participated in the slave-trade. You probably never “oppressed” anyone nor, by the same token, have you ever actually ''been'' “oppressed”. Stop that nonsense right now! “Social Justice” is neither social, nor justice. It’s posturing, and demeaning to those who ''really'' are oppressed. Like the millions of ''actual'' slaves throughout Africa and the Middle East, or proles in mainland China.

Enough. I’m going to work on some tech stuff now, I’m all politicked-out!

The weather’s been pleasant enough, not too hot. We’re looking forward to a slight warming for ''shabbat'', followed by pretty static and normal summer weather for the upcoming week.

Holidays are over, we’re back to the normal schedule. This ''shabbat'' we’ll have:
homemade ''ḥalla'',
baked chicken,
''chili con carne'',
various ''salatim'',
fruit,
and cookies.

Until next time,<br>
''shabbat shalom''!
