Welp. Time ran out on the cease-fire, and we have [https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-846832 resumed the war] in Gaza. The Houthis [https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-846804 are doing their best] to enter the “FO” phase of FAFO. It’s not enough for them to pick fights with us, they’re picking them with the USA as well; and [https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/us-strikes-houthi-strongholds-in-yemen-where-leaders-are-hiding-yemeni-sources-say/ar-AA1BdwLC the US is responding]. Interesting times.

And, well, the Houthi bastards [https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/article-846922 made us seek shelter] (but we were able to sleep the night through).

Since the war resumed, we decided a prudent course of action would be to do our shopping early in the week and stock up a bit. Not excessively, but a fair amount just in case, you know…

Some things of note:
* A Jordanian politician [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6B3ZRYvbVHc shuts up the EU] with facts about Israel.
* AI [https://time.com/7259395/ai-chess-cheating-palisade-research/ sometimes cheats] when it thinks it will lose. Well of course: it has no ethics, so why not cheat?
* Is the “Pardon Attorney’s” dismissal a [https://redstate.com/shipwreckedcrew/2025/03/10/pardon-attorneys-n2186488 sign of an investigation] into Biden’s last-minute pardons? We’ll see.
* Thanks to one of my cousins: an interesting video [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqrXu_zoLWU about Joshua’s Altar]. That’s [https://mechon-mamre.org/p/pt/pt0608.htm#30 Joshua from the Bible], y’all.
* Nerd corner: an excellent [https://identify.plantnet.org plant-identification] application!

Among other things, we purchased hardware and supplies so I (we) can rework the kitchen and repaint our “salon”, both of which we’ve been planning for some time. I got [https://s8580.pcdn.co/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Wiss-M2R-MetalMaster-Right-Hand-Aviation-Snips.jpg “aviation-shears”] instead of a sabre-saw, for the BBQ chimney work I mentioned last week. That’s because the store had to specially order a sabre-saw, but they had a decent set of shears right there. And, to be honest, the shears are much less expensive and I’m a bit cheap.

Now I have to “do the work”!

I was working on the new release of 8th (that I mentioned last week), all week; and it won’t be released in fact until next week. It’s a ton of work.

The heat-wave broke this week, and the temperatures dropped very significantly. It should be cold and wet for ''shabbat'', and we’re expecting another heat-wave mid-week. We’ll have the [https://www.gov.il/en/pages/12102023_2 silent station] on, just in case. And so it goes…

This ''shabbat'' we’re on our own, and plan on having:
 
homemade ''ḥallah'',
turkey ''shawarma'',
home-fries,
various ''salatim'',
and chocolate chip cookies.
