Yesterday it reached 40C at our place; it’s supposed to get a bit hotter today. No need to turn on the oven, we can just use the sidewalks!<br /> <br /> The ridiculous Eurovision contest ended Monday. Israel didn’t win. The Icelandic group [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hatari_(band) “Hatari”] (translation: “Hater”) performed “Hatrið mun sigra” (”Hatred will prevail”), and proceeded to prove their point by [https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/18/europe/iceland-eurovision-palestine-intl/index.html political posturing]. If they truly wanted to show solidarity with the “Palestinians”, they should have gone to perform their act in Gaza. Sure, it would have been a very short performance, ending with their demise, but it would have been “brave” and “fresh”.<br /> <br /> Esther’s gone off to Tel Aviv today, to participate in a yearly knitting event. She thus leaves me alone with my poor old mother, to prepare the house and meals for &#039;&#039;shabbat&#039;&#039;. That might be a tactical error on her part.<br /> <br /> Our beautiful grandchildren celebrated their 1&lt;sup&gt;st&lt;/sup&gt; birthdays this week! It seems like just yesterday we were at Daniela’s home, anxiously awaiting their “delivery”. <br /> <br /> I was really busy this week, between work for clients and work on hardware for 8th. I’ve got a number of the little SBCs now, heating up my office.
