Actually, I did find some ''Polish'' butter this week which was acceptable. In the “Land of Milk and Honey” we’re reduced to buying Polish butter, ''nebach''.

Regarding the governmental stalemate, the two main culprits are Avigdor Liberman and Yair Lapid. So I conducted a poll on Twitter, asking my Israeli friends, “Who’s worse? Liberman or Lapid?”. The choices were (1) Liberman, (2) Lapid, (3) They’re both terrible, and (4) Add another. Choices 1 and 2 are tied, but by far the most popular choice was #3. As I would expect, since they’re both actually terrible.

Since neither Netanyahu nor Gantz was able to form a coalition, the mandate to form a government has reverted to anyone of the MKs who can manage it. They’ve got 21 days to come up with a viable coalition, and then we go to elections. Again. For the third time in a year. For the first time in Israeli history. Yay, us!

We’re not the only messed-up place in the region, of course. Most importantly, [https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2019-11-18/iran-s-internet-blackout-how-activists-are-getting-around-it Iran has been experiencing riots] for the past week, with demonstrators burning police stations and banks, and protesting the government. You won’t have heard about most of that, since Iran shut down almost all its internet access to prevent the word from spreading. We might be on the verge of a new Iran, ''insh’allah''!

Random facts you won’t find anywhere else!
* A Chinese hunter [https://edition.cnn.com/2019/11/18/health/china-bubonic-plague-intl-hnk-scn-scli/index.html contracted bubonic plague] from eating a wild rabbit. Apparently the plague is making a comeback in Mongolia. As if I needed another reason to avoid Mongolia.
* The Coca Cola™ company has some odd notions about its role in the world. The latest commercial for Sprite (in Argentina of all places) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rj4gUXP-zVQ is all about “trans pride”]. And this has what, exactly, to do with a refreshing lemon-lime drink?
* For my older readers: the expression [https://www.vox.com/2019/11/19/20963757/what-is-ok-boomer-meme-about-meaning-gen-z-millennials “OK, boomer”] is intended as a slight. But since it’s mainly used by airhead youths with no significant accomplishments, you can just blow them off. Enjoy your retirement!
* I’m excited to try out this way to [https://www.tomsguide.com/us/usb-tv-tuner-software-defined-radio-sdr-radio-spying-privacy,review-1836.html spy on your neighbors]. The idea of using “Tempest” technology for $10 is intriguing. Of course, I could just poke my head out the window.
* Think of the children! It’s fun and profitable to circumvent the US Constitution by going outside the US.

I’ve been busy working on [https://8th-dev.com/forum/index.php/topic,1950.msg11220.html#msg11220 new features] in 8th, as well as some contract work. Mostly, though, I’ve been trying to keep Mom out of trouble. She’s feisty.

The weather did change, the temperatures did drop; but not as far as they projected. Right now we’re at the normal range for this time of year. But since our home has no insulation at all, it feels like the dead of winter inside the house. Yay, us!
