It turns out, a bit of Windex did ''not'' do the trick. After the special ultrasound exam this past Sunday, the doctor immediately hospitalized Mom in order to do a procedure to hopefully increase blood-flow in the affected leg. They did the procedure, and it did work. They kept her in the hospital until Thursday. So it was a ''very'' long week for her and for us.

For the moment, we need to keep an eye on the leg, and do pain management. It’s going to be a long time before we have a real resolution, I’m afraid.

As for me, well. I went to the ENT, who informed me my lymph gland is ''not'' swollen, but she found plenty of other things to comment on. Her opinion is that my jaw pain is a nerve issue (for which she has no solution). She sent me to an endocrinologist because of the minor issue the throat ultrasound picked up. That doctor didn’t think there was anything especially alarming, but she did send me for a blood test. That technician couldn’t find my veins. Yes, it was a ''very'' long week.

To make things a bit more spicy, the construction crew up the road skilfully severed the gas mains from two different gas companies, including ours. So we had no cooking gas for two days.

Did I mention it was a loooong week?

I had mentioned last week that we would meet with Sarah and Yarin and Yarin’s family that Friday. We did meet them, and had a nice brunch and pleasant conversation. His parents were just as curious as we were as to just why the “kids” had kept us from meeting for so very long. It turns out that we got along perfectly well, and now we’re “Facebook friends” — much to my daughter’s concern.

The weather’s been steady and cool-warm depending on the time of day. More of the same at least through this coming week.
