This week was our first “normal” one in quite some time.  So there’s not a lot to report, thankfully.

B”H!  Esther returned safe and sound (and tired).  Her return flight wasn’t as pleasant as it could have been.  Ignorant people ([https://www.birthrightisrael.com/ ”Birthright”] folks) were talking loudly.  Small folks were kicking her seat.  The flight was crowded.  But she braved it all, and early in the morning on Monday, her loving husband fetched her from the airport and returned her to her abode.

Esther’s boss and co-workers were ''extremely'' relieved to have her return to the office.  Apparently, things “get done” when she’s there, and not so much, otherwise.  So she was very busy working on a month-plus backlog. She deserves a raise!

Sarah started a studio-photography course, which will run for about three months.  At the least, she’ll hone skills she wants to have to pursue her ultimate goal (no, I won’t tell you what that is just yet).

I had a successful week, bringing my active client’s project to a good conclusion.  Now I’m in the interstices between paid projects: this client is having internal discussions how to proceed, while another one is waiting for funding.  A third one made unreasonable demands of my time, so they’ve been dropped.

This week we tried to spin back up to normal speed.  I did some work.  Esther didn’t go back to work yet, which is a good thing.

All of which is to the benefit of 8th: I made very substantial progress this week, towards the next version.  Working on supporting “Wear OS”, which is what Android’s “wearable devices OS” is called (yes, it’s basically the same as Android, but not exactly).  Fixed a number of bugs found by my diligent users, and added some things.  All good.

I made a [https://8th-dev.com/forum/index.php/topic,1677.0.html new release of 8th], a bit overdue.  So far, it seems to have generated a lot of traffic on my site (that’s a good thing).  The next release will be a significant one in that more platform support will be added.  If only I could get more time and/or money to work on it!

Esther and I made an effort to get the house more organized.  Once Mom’s shipment arrived, it was apparent that the house is much smaller than Mom had thought (my warnings to the contrary notwithstanding).  So my Better Half and I rearranged a number of things and got a bit more room.  It’s like one of those Chinese puzzles.

Esther and I celebrated 2<sup>5</sup> years of marriage, this week. We’re aiming for at least  2<sup>6</sup>! Daniela and Jeremy celebrated their anniversary, as always, on the same day. Copycats.

The grand-kids are growing at an alarming rate, while retaining their cuteness.  They’ve gone bald for now; hopefully the hair will return! As I’m becoming increasingly follicly underrepresented, I can’t say being hairless has diminished them in any way.

July 6th

B”H! Esther returned safe and sound (and tired). Her return flight wasn’t as pleasant as it could have been. Ignorant people (”Birthright” folks) were talking loudly. Small folks were kicking her seat. The flight was crowded. But she braved it all, and early in the morning on Monday, her loving husband fetched her from the airport and returned her to her abode.

In the month and a half since she’d last seen her abode, it had grown quite a bit more crowded: my mom’s lift arrived just before we went to the States, and untold quantities of “stuff” with it.

Most of the clutter had been resolved before Esther’s return, but a significant amount remains, and our house isn’t big enough to comfortably handle all of it. So we’re trying to figure out what to do. Or more correctly: Esther’s trying to figure it out. I just punted to her.

I made a new release of 8th, a bit overdue. So far, it seems to have generated a lot of traffic on my site (that’s a good thing). The next release will be a significant one in that more platform support will be added. If only I could get more time and/or money to work on it!

Esther and I celebrated 25 years of marriage, this week. We’re aiming for at least 26! Daniela and Jeremy celebrated their anniversary, as always, on the same day. Copycats.

The grand-kids are growing at an alarming rate, while retaining their cuteness. They’ve gone bald for now; hopefully the hair will return! As I’m becoming increasingly follicly underrepresented, I can’t say being hairless has diminished them in any way.

Sarah was supposed to have been with us this shabbat, but she’s not feeling well. We wish her a quick and complete recovery.

The Woman of the House has returned! In celebration, we’ll have:
homemade ḥalla, “orange” soup, baked chicken, fried tofu, mushroom quiche, veggie cholent, carrot muffins, tuna salad, various salatim, and some pastries.
