Another week of work: this time, we received our sofas from the upholsterer, and they look great! If you’re in the Jerusalem area and are thinking of reupholstering, we can give a warm recommendation for the guy we used.

We were both busy with work, various preparations for the upcoming pesaḥ holiday, and finishing touches to our “salon” (“living-room” for our American correspondents). It’s going to take some time to get used-to the new arrangement, but it does give us more usable space, which is welcome.

Then there was the sudden governmental crisis here in the Land, initiated when one of the members of the government coalition suddenly left it, leaving the coalition without a majority and potentially spelling the end of this government. So we just might have elections, again, later this year. That was a welcome change, however, from the recent spate of terrorist attacks we’ve experienced this past month (mostly in the pre-67 borders, it must be noted).

Who ever said life in Israel was boring?

Stuff and nonsense:

  • Our very own Lahav Harkov on how Ukraine is learning the “Israel lesson”.
  • Biden is so very compromised, his ability to lead America (let alone the world) is severely diminished.
  • How Biden and Blinken are duping Naftali Bennett. Too bad he won’t be in office very much longer.
  • And the “Cut the Bull” podcast interviews Kara Dansky, discussing among other things the rabid push to prioritize gender identity and how it is harmful to women and girls.

The weather was very hot this week, for the season; however, it wasn’t actually hot enough to complain bitterly about. So I won’t do that. Right now it’s very windy, and the temperatures are dropping slowly towards “warm”. On shabbat it should be relatively cool, with this coming week’s weather “unsettled”. Much as we are.

This week’s devar-torah brought to you by the weekly Torah reading.

This shabbat, we’ll get rid of all our ḥameṣ, with:
Various of Ron’s home-made breads, herb-rubbed chicken, ptitim, various salatim, and some kind of cake .

Until next time,
shabbat shalom!
