It was a week of miracles!

We awakened to news that our northern neighbors had planned to send 6,000 missiles into central Israel, but the IAF destroyed most of their launchers a few scant minutes before the planned attack. That shows incredibly accurate Israeli intelligence. It’s extremely troubling that similar intelligence wasn’t available (or acted upon) this past October.

Later in the week, the IDF rescued one of the hostages, an Israeli Bedouin. Hamas claimed they “let him go” after “they realized” he was Muslim. It only took them 10+ months to figure that out?!?

Then, in an admittedly minor miracle: all the items we had ordered, from separate vendors, arrived on the same day and at the same time they had said they would!

Can there be any doubt mashiaḥ’s arrival is imminent?

Ponderous or ponder-worthy?

Esther and I were working as usual. I finally got the “new, improved!” 8th compiler working well enough to start edging towards a release. It works great on Android, but I’m still having difficulties with iOS. Hopefully, I’ll get that worked out this coming week.

I also managed to get my new “build machine” working properly, after the previous one had blown fuses. I suppose I can’t complain too much, the old machine kept going for well over a decade of mostly continuous use. However, I’m reminded of my parents’ refrigerator from the 1950’s which was still working perfectly in the 1990’s…

More normal ME summer; cooling slightly over shabbat. Finally, sub 30C highs in Jerusalem (low 30s for us)…

This shabbat we’ve got guests for a meal, as well as:
homemade ḥalla, “orange soup”, Asian turkey legs, baked salmon, roasted veggies, potato kugel, various salatim, and “just cake” with plum sauce.

Until next time,
shabbat shalom!
