Continuing the saga: we went to the nephrologist (a second time; if you’ll recall, he wasn’t there the first time). I was expecting him to say I need to undergo some tests, or alternatively, that I’m fine and not to worry.

What I didn’t expect was for him to say, “I’m sorry, but I can’t help you; I’m not a nephrologist”!

I messaged my GP, but because of the (then) upcoming Yom Kippur holiday, she hasn’t answered me yet. So on Y”K, I did what she had prescribed for me, and hopefully there’s not much more to the story. I spent two hours on the morning before Y”K, getting an infusion (for extra hydration). I don’t honestly think it made any difference, but I try to obey my doctor’s orders. I do feel fine at present, though it was very strange to not fast on Y”K.

Because next week starts the Sukkoth holiday, I had to do some cleanup work this week preparing the back patio. Fortunately, that wasn’t a lot of work, though the neighbor’s tree is very messy and I’ll have to keep sweeping up through the holiday!

Various and sundry:

Before the doctor nonsense, I completed work on the “component tester”, reworking the (bad) software the original designer had written. It works quite well, all things considered, and I managed to test a bunch of the components I’d salvaged (some time back). A worthwhile project, all in all.

The temperatures over Y”K were very pleasant; unfortunately, we’re headed for a short heat-wave over shabbat. So it’ll be warmer than we’d like.

This shabbat we’re working on consuming:
homemade ḥalla, chicken soup, schnitzel, various salatim, and honey cake.

Until next time,
shabbat shalom (and ḥag sameaḥ)!
