Back to normal for us. Esther’s computer decided to break before our recent trip, so we ordered a replacement and picked it up last Friday. On Sunday we transferred her crucial stuff from the broken machine to the new one, and she got her IT guy at work to get it set up for work purposes. So, that was how we started the week.

We also did some olive-collecting, because our olive trees are on the verge of dropping all their fruit on our patio. It’s a lot of olives, several kilos; however, we don’t yet know how many are bug-free since we just put them to soak for a couple days, first. Today I’ll sift through them and discard the bad ones, and in a week or so we’ll brine them. Welcome to life in the boondocks.

The farm we get vegetables from sent us a huge Napa cabbage, so I’ve converted it into kimchi. It’ll take a few more days to ripen; in the meantime, the house will be a bit “pungent”. Delicious cultural appropriation!

Various and sundry:

  • The putos podridos at the ICC issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant. No word yet on whether or not they’ll issue warrants for Putin, Xi, Erdoğan, and Khamenei.
  • A portion of an interview with a military expert who debunks the “genocide” claims against Israel. Shame the putos at the ICC didn’t watch it. Not that they’d care.
  • I almost feel sorry for Joe Biden. At the G20 summit he was snubbed and bizarrely walked off into the Brazilian jungle…
  • …only almost, though, since his administration is imposing sanctions on Israeli companies, among their other anti-Israel actions. #FUJB! January 20th can’t arrive quickly enough.
  • 30% of Democrat Senators in the US voted to block the sale of weapons necessary for Israel’s ongoing war. Those 18 bastards will not be forgotten. You can’t hate the current administration enough.
  • A history lesson Democrats can’t afford to forget. But, by all indications, they will.
  • And now for something completely different: a 15-minute intro to involute gears.

I’m slowly moving towards releasing that “zemanim” redo in 8th. The Android version is available for download now, if you’re interested. I’m having difficulties dealing with Apple’s baroque and infuriating systems; but I hope to make the iOS version release next week. If the Apple gods smile upon me.

The weather’s turned autumnal as befits the season. Cool enough to need a light jacket in the mornings. Possible rain on Sunday, and then a cold snap like January.

This shabbat we’ve got guests for a meal; among other things, we’ll try to give them: chicken soup, baked chicken, sweet potatoes, various salatim, and marble cake. Until next time,
shabbat shalom!
