ה', בָּדָד יַנְחֶנּוּ; וְאֵין עִמּוֹ, אֵל נֵכָר (דברים לב:יב)
במשך הימים הנוראים, הזכרנו פעמים רבות את עניין מלכות ה' -- ואפילו שינינו את נוסח התפילה לומר "המלך הקדוש" ו"המלך המשפט". ובפרשתנו יש זכר לייחודיותו של המלך ה', שהוא לא רק המלך, אלא אֵין עוֹד, מִלְּבַדּוֹ (דברים ד:לה)
ובהיות הדבר כך, צריכים אנו להפנים את המסר שלה' יש כוח להחיות ולהמית, וכל מעשינו לפניו יתברך כאילו כתובים בספר. ולכן נכון לירא ממנו ולשאוף לעשות הטוב בעיניו. וזאת דרגה אחת בעבודת ה'.
