We’ve arrived at Grands’ Central, and will be enjoying the Grands and their affiliates (and the affiliates’ hospitality) for nearly a month. So you’ll be receiving the blog earlier than usual until we’re back in the Land.
The flight here was unremarkable but for two things: first, it was an hour shorter than usual because (we assume) the winds were very favorable. Second, for some unknowable reason, the stewards kept passing us by as if we didn’t exist.
Since we were involved in getting ready for the trip, we don’t have a whole lot of actual content to post; so this is pretty much it, this week. Deal with it!
Various:
- Uri opines that politeness is oppression.
- Israel’s cabinet is set to vote on closing “Army Radio”. It’s long past time it was shut down, in my non-humble opinion.
- A friendly reminder that your unpowered SSDs are probably losing data.
- Nerdism: the hidden asymmetry of AC currents.
- Fixing Jamie Oliver’s terrible fried rice.
- Last but not least, what is a “figgy pudding”?
Daniela and Naomi came to pick us up from the airport, which was both much appreciated, and very pleasant. We’re looking forward to a very active first shabbat tomorrow!
According to Jeremy (and the National Weather Service), we’re expecting anywhere from 5 to 8 or so inches of snow over Friday through Saturday morning. So if that happens, we’ll be staying indoors, thank you very much. I’ll update you next week…
