The last days of pesaḥ went by calmly and quickly. Our guest stayed with us from Friday until the end of the last holiday, and proved to be an excellent and polite conversationalist.

After the holiday ended, Esther and I returned the kitchen to its pre-pesaḥ mode. I re-started sourdough starter, and this is what it looked like after just two days. Even the yeasts were excited to get back to pre-holiday mode!

Of course, we had to abandon our lethargic do-nothing attitudes once the holiday was over. Esther had to go back to work. I did some gardening and programming work. And we subsisted on leftover pesaḥ food until we summoned the energy to go shopping; however, we did not require humanitarian aid.

Various:

  • Is Jerry Seinfeld right about the downfall of comedy? It’s no laughing matter!
  • The Drinker on the dumbest scene in movie history. I’ll take his word for it.
  • Interesting Israeli opinion-polls summary page. The trend-line is sharply descending for Likud, and sharply rising for the actual “right-wing” parties as well as for the “centrist” one. The “left” just becomes more Leftist, but otherwise the same.
  • And Why Biden is Saving Hamas. It’s a long article, but worth the read.

I re-acquainted myself with BPPV, unfortunately. One morning I turned around to get out of bed and nearly fell on the floor because of the vertigo. So I need to re-acquaint myself with the Epley maneuver and perform it before shabbat!

The weather was blessedly pleasant, and will (presumably) continue that way through mid-week, when more heat is expected.

Back to “normal”, this shabbat, so on the menu:
homemade ḥalla, meatballs and ḥamud, pargiot with potatoes, roasted veggies, various salatim, and ice-cream.

Until next time,
shabbat shalom!
