I thought I was in the clear, but the Grands conspired to give me a cold for the new year! Unlike previous afflictions, this one is unduly affecting my throat, making it hard to swallow. If it doesn’t get better by tomorrow morning, I’m heading to the “urgent-care” to have it looked at. Oof!

This week the kids were mostly still on “winter break”, so we enjoyed each other’s company most every day, all day. At the beginning of the week, Daniela and Jeremy took off on their own mini-vacay, counting on us to keep the Grands in fine fettle. Truth be told, we had no problems at all, except for our rapidly diminishing energy reserves. There’s good reason to have children when you’re younger!

Congrats to Sarah and Yarin for moving to an apartment! We wish them success and happiness. Their new digs are right next to the transport center, so Sarah will have an easier commute to work.

What’s going on?

At first, Apple rejected my zemanim app because they misunderstood how it was supposed to work. I gave them some feedback, and they subsequently approved it. So if you’re an iPhone/iPad user, you can get it from the App Store now!

We were a bit too free-handed with our credit cards this trip; I think we’ll need to do some penny-pinching for a while. But it’s been a very good trip. There’s nothing like hearing your grandkids tell you they love you!

This is our last shabbat at Daniela’s, this trip. According to plan, we’ll have:
home-made sourdough, beef stew, rigatoni, roasted cauliflower and carrots, chicken Caesar salad, almond cookies, and cinnamon rugelach.

Until next time,
shabbat shalom!
