We made it! The last (and by far most important) of the summer fast days is behind us. Hopefully we benefited from it and will continue to mend our ways over the coming year. Yom HaKippurim turned out to be the hottest day of the week, but fortunately the A/C everywhere we needed to be was in fine form.
Sarah spent the week elsewhere, with friends; she came back yesterday pretty tired. So this shabbat — between the “days of awe” and the holiday of sukkot, we’ll have a quiet time.
Esther also ended the week pretty tired, having worked many hours trying to make IRS deadlines before our holidays. I know she’s looking forward to a quiet shabbat.
I too am pretty tired. Our sukkah is part-way built; I will be finishing it today, B”H. In between all the other preparations for holidays etc., I was able to add “encrypted database” support in 8th, which is an extremely useful feature.
For now, that’s all; sorry for the short blog, but we’ve a lot to do before shabbat and we’ll all tired!
Just us three this week. We’ll have:
chicken soup,
probably vegetable soup,
most likely some other food,
salatim,
and date cake.
Until next time,
shabbat shalom and ḥag sameaḥ!
