We’re done, now, with the “Holidays of Tishrei”; it’ll be a while until ḥannuka, so we can relax for the time being. The sukka has been stowed away, and now we just have to get the house back into its normal rhythm.

Sarah and Yarin are soon to be wending their way back to the Land, we wish them a safe and quiet journey home.

Daniela, Jeremy, and the kids (as well as Sarah and Yarin) enjoyed their holidays as well as the extra bonus days of holidays. The kids are particularly enamored of their sub-compact baby brother, who is going to have to develop some karate moves soon.

Stranger than fiction, reality is:

  • Racism is real (if you’re white, in New Hampshire).
  • A cryptocurrency-trading hamster beats Warren Buffet and the S&P 500. A bit silly, to be honest; if the hamster manages to consistently beat Buffet for a whole decade, then I’d be impressed. Don’t know if hamsters live that long, though…
  • A very cool project: a mechanical table with a hidden top for puzzles.
  • On natural immunity with respect to COVID.
  • The purges have begun. Pay attention, your Republic is in serious danger.
  • The new “James Bond” gets “five-star reviews” from the critics. That means it’s gonna be complete trash; mark my words!
  • “Scientific American”, formerly a magazine about science, opines that the term “JEDI” is problematic. I had thought the article was a well-crafted ironic statement on the absurdity of the modern weltanschauung. Sadly, the authors are actually sincere.

Esther had to do work during the “intermediate days”, so she unfortunately didn’t get as much rest as she should have. I, on the other hand, did very little but read and eat. It’s good to be king!

I did make another release of 8th this week, to little fanfare — though it’s a significant release in some ways. Other than that, just a lot of resting…

Back to “normal” this shabbat. Our menu:
homemade ḥalla and pita, baked chicken, potatoes, meatloaf, various salatim, and banana cake.

Until next time,
shabbat shalom!
