Since Esther’s going to be leaving me to do the shabbat preparations this week, I don’t have as much time as I normally would. Therefore, the blog is a bit shorter than usual.

We had a nice lunch visit with Sarah, though once again the commute to and from the Tel Aviv area was not much fun. We went to the Herzliya Marina, which is very pretty and “upscale”, but which has a collection of mediocre restaurants. At least, the one we went to turned out to be that. Nevertheless, we had a good time with our daughter. Presumably our last visit for a while, since she will be starting a new job next week. Congratulations!

Also: congrats to nephew Chaim for completing his chaplaincy course in the US Army.

Some stuff:

My bleedin’ nose is still bleeding, though not as frequently as it did after my last visit to the ENT. In the meantime, I asked our emergency-backup-daughter Dinah (who is a nurse) for tips, and she suggested a particular medication, which I requested of my doctor. He gave it to me, but it’s a liquid provided in ampoules for IV injection rather than swabbing in the nose. However, the instruction insert did have a blurb about how to use it for nosebleeds.

Well, it does actually work, but only for a couple days. So I’ve given that up, and anxiously await my next ENT appointment, in October. Yeah. At least I have some of that medicine in case of massive hemorrhage…

The weather’s been steady and the usual for our summertime. It shows no signs of changing over the next week.

This shabbat, our guests and we will hopefully enjoy:
homemade ḥalla, chicken schnitzel, meatballs, stuffed vegetables, rice, homemade ḥummus, homemade baked beans, various pashtidot, various salatim, and spice-cake.

Until next time,
shabbat shalom!
