We’ve been slowly returning to normal, trying to recover from jet-lag and colds. I’m still dealing with some ear-and-jaw stuff; hopefully on the mend soon, but not feeling the love just yet.

In the meantime, I fixed some Android-related issues and made a new release of zemanim for Android. I also made the first release of 8th for 2026. All that, and the package from FedEx (or, as I refer to it, my preciousss) which they had claimed was delivered more than a week ago, finally did arrive. So, all in all, a productive week for me.

We also, unfortunately, had to attend the funeral of a long-time friend. He was one of the kindest people we know, and had the absolute best attitude of anyone we’ve ever known. You will be missed, A.J. ברוך דיין האמת.

Various:

Now that US military forces are in-theater, Trump’s warning Iran to “make a deal, or else!”. We have no idea if he’s actually of the opinion that the mullahs are interested in any deal short of the overthrow of the US and Israel, but we need to be prepared to “take cover” if the excreta impact the impeller. I sincerely hope we see the end of the evil Iranian regime soon, but they seem to have more lives than a cat.

Our replacement “water-bar” shabbat-sensitive machine was hooked up, and works! We found we’ve become far too fond of it…

The weather this shabbat is supposed to be on the warm side, which is a welcome change!

This shabbat we’ve got guests for one meal, and will be enjoying:
homemade ḥalla, mushroom soup, barbecued pargiot, roasted cauliflower, chicken stir-fry, various salatim, and a dessert of some kind.

Until next time,
shabbat shalom!
