If you made aliyah less than a year ago but more than six months ago, you can apply for unemployment benefits at the Misrad Haklita.
Otherwise, you need to:
- Go to your local "misrad hata`asuka" (there's one here in M"A in the basement of the mall) with the letter from your employer.
- Afterwards, go to the Bituach Leumi (there's one here in M"A, close to the Paz station, but it's only open Wednesdays) and file for benefits.
I don't know for sure yet, but I have been told that you need:
- Letter from your employer stating you've been "let go"
- Copies of your last 12-18 pay-stubs ("telushim")
- If you have a degree, an Israeli certified copy of the degree
