Hi, again!

The family visit has ended; the guest went on their way back to Argentina with a stop in France. We hope we showed them a properly good time while simultaneously educating them a little about "the situation" here in Israel, as it really is -- as opposed to what makes the news overseas. They managed to take in the most major sites, including the Western Wall tunnels. Of course, one could spend a lifetime here touring around and finding interesting things.

I was successful getting my part of the project I'm working on "code complete"; so now it remains to work on fixing problems ... mostly caused by people changing things without coordinating with me, but that's pretty much what I do all day. But between work and the guests, I didn't have a lot of free time to do much else this week; hopefully I'll be able to remedy that in the near term.

Daniela will be heading back to the US in a few weeks to complete her degree, while Sarah will be coming home for at least the next year. Friends of ours are coming on aliyah in a few weeks, we'll be part of the "welcoming committee" at the airport, B"H. The next month will be full of comings and goings, may they all be for the good!

Odds and ends:

This week we have two of Sarah's friends over for shabbat, so the six of us will have: barbecued lamb, barbecued chicken, pastel de acelga, kohlrabi salad, salmon salad, quinoa salad, tomato salad, eggplant, chicken soup, baked potatoes, roasted zucchini, steak-and-ribs cholent, noodle salad, egg salad.

Until next week,
shabbat shalom!
