Hi, again!

Well, I think we can safely say "winter's over". The weather was very hot all week, unseasonably so; I suppose it came to balance last week's unseasonably cool weather. The in-laws spent a warm and cozy week with us, and will be leaving for Argentina in a few hours (from the time of this writing, of course). The plague of Arab peace-lovers has manifested itself yet again in the Land and worldwide, and their "useless idiot" sympathizers pop up their ugly heads in the US of A. Again.

Since we need to take the in-laws to the airport shortly, I'll try to get my thoughts down quickly; please forgive me if they are more disjointed than usual. First about them: Esther took them out shopping and sightseeing, but since they had come off a tourist trip they weren't too interested in sightseeing. It was my mother-in-law's birthday this week, so we took them out for dinner to a nice place. Too bad the weather was grumpy, but it was still a pleasant evening. After three weeks in Israel, they're ready to go back to the third worldArgentina. (no, seriously: the Argentinian President is turning that country into a shambles).

This week a peaceful Arab, mindful of his right to resist the brutal occupation, stabbed an Israeli Aggressor to death. So you might understand from the very prejudicial way that article was written, in any case. Our potential peace-partners called the stabber a "hero", and a democratically-elected Arab representative of the Occupation Government refused to condemn the murderjustifiable homicide.

Of course, those of us who abandoned our blinders along with our innocence did not find this surprising in the least. This very week, the Pew Research Center (not known as a right-wing organization) published a disturbing poll of Muslims which revealed (among other things) that fully 40% of the "palestinian" Arabs support suicide bombings as a legitimate form of violence "to defend Islam". You remember Islam, right? The "religion of peace". I want to see an artist render a "Piss Mohammed" and see just how long he stays alive...

In the meantime, a Muslim tries to cut a Jew's throat in France, and the police there are "investigating the motive". Useless (academic) idiots in the US boycott Israel (because, you know...). The Useless Idiot named Kerry demands Israel free terrorists. And amidst the upheaval in the US and the world at large, the Obaminator finds time to give a supportive phone call to a mediocre, almost unknown athlete who "came out"; however, Obummer was unable to do as much for the staff of the embassy in Benghazi. May God have mercy on us all, the world is unravelling before our eyes! <sigh>

Sarah spent most of the week filming, editing and who-knows-what-ing with her classmates. She's working on her year-end project, and helping her friends with theirs. Lots of work, and I can say I don't understand the half of what she's talking about these days. That's a good thing. Daniela and Jeremy are fine, and we (here) sat through another screening of their wedding video (for the in-laws). It grows on you...

Work proceeds apace, I'm working on designing and implementing changes to improve our system. The parallel work on my zemanim application also proceeds apace while I learn fascinating insights into the bowels of the web-world. Maybe fascinating is overstating the case a bit.

Wrapping up for this week; I hope to have more interesting things to say next week.

This shabbat it's just the three of us, and we're looking forward to peace, quiet and simple food:
chicken with rice, roasted zucchini, regular cholent, salads, and date-nut cake.

Until next week,
shabbat shalom!
