We didn’t have any adventures of note this week, though we did perform a number of “maintenance” tasks around the homestead. The various members of Daniela and Jeremy’s congregation stopped providing food this week, so Esther was partly involved with ensuring a constant supply of tasty provender for the burgeoning family.

I did the scutwork, as befits my abilities.

Among other things, I’ve been trying to understand a strange bug in 8th, wherein some internet connections don’t get processed properly. It’s been befuddling my mind for the past week during those hours The Twins allow me some time-off.

As for Master Yosef, he’s up to 8 lbs 2.5 ozs (3.7 kg) from his birth-weight of just over 5 lbs. The lad is progressing very nicely, B”H! He is also the least whiny of the children, just sayin’…

Odd, I wouldn’t have thought:

We will, apparently, be returning to “the farm” on Sunday. Ever since our trip there two weeks ago, Naomi hasn’t stopped talking about the cows. She’s obsessed with those milk-and-methane-producers. So back we’ll go, and who knows? Maybe we’ll see even more fascinating animals there!

Next shabbat we’ll be back home in the Land, B”H! We’ve yet some preparations to do for our return flight, but nothing too onerous. The main challenges will be detaching Esther from her grandchildren, detaching them from me, and beefing-up Daniela’s strength. Your thoughts and prayers, please…

Presumably the weather will be cool and breezy this shabbat, though I don’t intend to wander about much so I don’t much care, to be honest.

This week’s shabbat menu includes:
Esther’s homemade ḥalla!, mushroom soup, salmon balls in spicy sauce, pan-fried flounder fillet, roasted chicken, roasted eggplant, roasted green beans, rice, potato kugel, various salatim, and cookies.

Until next time,
shabbat shalom!
