The first part of the week was spent mostly getting ready for pesaḥ, which started Wednesday night. Since we had a “full house” this time around, we had some planning to do. Fortunately, we’ve done this a few times…

The “morning of”, we made a triple-batch of our soft-matsa (or, rather, we made a single batch three times: it’s not prudent to make more than a single batch at a time). Some of it we set aside for shabbat, some we held back, and the rest went onto the table for the seder. Everything we put out was consumed, so I can say it was a “hit”.

Our guests seemed to enjoy themselves, and we got to hear some entertaining stories during the meal portion of the seder. Sarah and Yarin dropped by for the daytime meal, which was lovely.

Meanwhile…

I made another release of 8th this week, wanting to get the latest changes and fixes out before the holiday sprang upon us. Unfortunately, it looks like I messed up some documentation formatting when I fixed the documentation formatting. My karma is negative.

Since Daniela et. fam. live in the Exile, they have a three-day incommunicado period, which means we are grandchild-deprived. Not good!

The weather on pesaḥ was very pleasant, though we’re expecting a heat wave over shabbat. You can’t have everything.

This shabbat ḥol hamoʿed, our menu includes:
homemade matsa, lamb and fava stew, rice, various salatim, and brownies

Until next time,
shabbat shalom and moʿadim lesimeḥa!
