The rosh hashanah holiday plus shabbat were quiet, so we were able to enjoy the company of friends in relative peace. We were expecting something to happen, but nothing did, in our area.

Afterwards, we had an “interesting” week, being on tenterhooks awaiting our response to Iranian missiles. We keep hearing threats and counter-threats, but nothing specific. In the meantime, our forces are reaming Hezb’allah. Thank God!

But we most definitely do need to remove the Iranian regime from service. Not the people of Iran, who are (mostly) not our enemies. Nothing but that will ensure a peaceful Middle East; and we have to do it ourselves, it seems, because the US is no kind of real ally. If Kamalek wins, it will be the worse for us, so we need to act now.

The one-year anniversary of the Hamas invasion occurred this week (on the secular calendar). Fortunately it passed with less disturbance than we were anticipating; largely because our forces have reduced Hamas (and Gaza) very substantially, and are on very high alert.

Lots of material for thought:

Apart from all that, we set up our sukkah in the back patio. This year we expanded it a bit more, to make it more comfortable and airy, and so the “roof” blocked a bit more of the direct sunlight. It should be mighty nice, when we inaugurate it next week! We expect our guests will be thankful.

This shabbat is also yom-hakippurim, so our meal-before-the-fast as well as the break-the-fast will be::
puchero, and honey cake (or another cake).

Until next time,
shabbat shalom and gemar ḥatima ṭova!
