You’re getting this missive early this week, since rosh hashanah starts this evening and we’ll be incommunicado until Saturday night.
This week started off with the news that just before shabbat began, the IAF removed Nasrallah from circulation while Netanyahu was excoriating the UN and warning Iran and our other enemies of the consequences of rash action on their part.
Shortly thereafter, we commenced the long-awaited ground invasion of Lebanon. Please listen to the IDF spokesman RAdm. Daniel Hagari as he explains Hezb’ plans and our actions (as of this writing). And of course, the dumb-ass Houthis asked for it as well; but that’s the result of generations of intensive inbreeding and qat usage.
The “Home Front Command” has raised the alert levels for the center of Israel, so I’m anticipating a less-restful-than-usual near future. If it leads to the eradication of Hezb’allah, it’s well worth it.
Update: so Iran didn’t wait, and fired hundreds of ballistic missiles at us. Fortunately, the only fatality here was a Muslim Arab resident of Gaza who happened to be in Jericho (how?) at the time. Allahu akbar! IR have threatened further waves of missiles, but as of this writing (Wed morning), they’ve refrained. IR also activated some terrorist cells inside Israel, which caused far more damage than the missile attack did.
Iran must know that we will respond far more forcefully than we did during their previous unprovoked attack in April, surely? Because we’re no longer paying much attention to our “allies” whinging and whining and “proportional response” BS.
On that note, I would like to thank the Obama/Biden and Biden/Harris administrations for funding, encouraging, and enabling the evil Islamic Republic of Iran. Without their cheerleading IR, none of this would have been possible. May all their memories be erased, forever, amen!
Weird and wild:
- Apparently Mahmoud Abbas is a member of the Tribe. Not in good standing, though, it must be said.
- DoJ notified of suspected intentionally faulty welds on subs and aircraft carriers. This is fine.
- The Biden admin’s EO 14115: a threat to IL sovereignty and civil rights. But then, what would you expect from Obama 3.0?
- A thread from an Iranian on the Nasrallah deletion.
- Experts weigh in on our expunging Nasty’r’allah.
- An old anti-Hezb’allah song resurfaced this week.
A year has passed; the most difficult year, I think it’s fair to say, anyone in Israel has had in recent memory. The 7th-century barbarian raid which occurred almost a year ago on the Jewish calendar, on one of our holy-days, will not easily be forgotten. But it’s also fair to say, I think, that Israel as a whole has turned a corner. The illusions we had that “surely they just want peace” have been shattered, and replaced with a hard-edged realism and determination best encapsulated by General George S. Patton: “No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.”
Enough of that. We’ve got a new Jewish year starting in a few hours, with the usual many hours of prayer, and hope for a better year. May God grant us a much better year than the past one, and complete and utter victory for our forces.
We’ve got guests for the first night of rosh hashanah, are invited out the second night, and will collapse on shabbat while partaking of:
homemade ḥalla,
leeks, beets, pomegranates, dates, apples, honey, &c. …
baked brisket with tzimmes,
baked chicken,
grilled pargiot,
grilled fish,
imam bayildi,
rice,
roasted potatoes,
roasted zucchini,
various salatim,
varieties of wine,
other liquid refreshments,
and honey cake.
Until next time,
shabbat shalom!
