Happy birthday Daniela!

We spent the week getting ready for next week’s trip to the Grands. Mostly trying to remember what we had forgotten to get, or had delayed getting. Not particularly exciting, I must say. We’re still having to figure out the packing situation…

Now witness the fire-power of this fully-armed and operational Chanuquarium™!

I processed our Myrtle and Tangerine liqueurs. After straining, sweetening, and diluting them both to about 33% alcohol by volume, they now need to rest a while before being consumed. You’re invited to help taste-test them.

Various:

I made the last release of 8th for 2025, and commenced our year-end sale.

Perhaps Bennett should have consulted me about data security. I spent some time this week devising a “fail-over” plan to be executed should I be unable to continue (e.g. have met my Maker or am otherwise severely indisposed). One facet of the plan is writing a PDF with complete instructions on how to access various accounts (among other details), cryptographically splitting it into parts which individually are meaningless and stored in separate locations, and separately providing instructions on how to reconstruct the PDF.

Hack that, IRGC bastards!

We lit Hanukkah lights one night with my 3C1RA (third-cousin, once-removed, ascending) in Nes Tziona (a “Bloom” and “Roberts” relative, for those in the know). We had a very pleasant evening with congenial conversation and, for the first time this holiday, “sufganiyot”. Sadly, those last are just as disappointing as always…

We had a rather wet week, but the rain should be gone until after we’ve left for Grands’ Central. Temperatures are supposed to be seasonably cool.

This shabbat we’re out for one meal; for the rest (I’m most definitely) staying indoors. Our menu includes:
homemade ḥalla, pargiot, hummus-basar, rice, egg salad, various salatim, and baklawa.

Until next time,
shabbat shalom!
