Oct 2nd - sorry, no devar torah this week

It was a quiet week for us personally, though not for all of us. Our prayers go out to the latest victims of the “religion of peace” perpetrated by our “peace partners”. הי״ד. At least Netanyahu gave a proper response to international acquiescence to Iran at the UN, though he seems unable to formulate a proper response domestically.

We had visitors during the week. The first day of the Sukkot holiday we had guests for both dinner and lunch. Esther prepared her traditional stuffed vegetables, our sukkah was comfortable (well, not at the midday meal... it was too hot), and we had lot of good conversation.

During the intermediate days of the festival we were visited by my nephew and his girlfriend, as well as Sarah’s boyfriend. The barbecue we prepared was well received, and the meal proceeded in a leisurely fashion with pleasant conversation. Afterwards, we “older adults” eventually left the scene, while the “youngsters” continued their conversations late into the night in our sukkah.

We also took my nephew and his girlfriend on a short trip down to the Dead Sea. Specifically, we went to a place called Einot Tsukim which is near to the caves of Qumran where the “Dead Sea Scrolls” were discovered. It was hot and humid there, and had we known better we would have brought attire suitable for water. Ah, well.

And that wraps up this week’s blog. We’re looking forward to having a peaceful shabbat and yom tov. Gotta go and spruce up the sukkah for shabbat!

Dinah is joining us for shabbat, and our friends will join us for lunch as well. We’ll have:
veg, vegetables, and veggies, greens, salads, and greenery, egg salad, tuna salad, brisket, apple cake, surprise dessert, and honey cake.

Until next time,
shabbat shalom and ḥag sameaḥ!
