TMI alert
It‘s been a bit of a long week for me. A month ago, my endocrinologist started me on “Ozempic” to control my glucose levels more effectively. At the initial dose, I was “ok”, though frequently nauseated (that‘s a normal side-effect). But when I increased to the next dosage level, it turned out my body was having none of it. Suffice it to say, twice in the past week I was “confined” to the restroom. With the lack of appetite and the outrageous “releases”, I lost 3kg in a month. So good, I guess?

Anyway, I went back to the endocrinologist and complained that I couldn‘t tolerate this, and she basically said, “who told you to increase the dose?” So she wants me to go back to the initial dosage and keep on it so long as I can tolerate it.
END TMI

Because of these “issues”, I haven‘t really accomplished anything of note. Sorry to disappoint you all!

Various:

The UN (supposedly the “united” nations) has added Israeli entities to their blacklist of countries committing sexual violence. Not Iran, which despite imprisoning, raping, and executing women for exposing a lock of hair, sits on a committee which shapes policies on human rights and women‘s rights. It‘s long past time for the Useless Nations to be disbanded.

Esther‘s attending a knitting-do in Tel Aviv, so I‘m on deck for shabbat preparations. Fortunately, my much better half has had mercy on me, and most of what we‘ve got is prepared already.

The weather for shabbat is supposed to be a bit warmer than the previous days, but not outrageous.

This shabbat I‘m in charge of the food, so be prepared! I will assemble:
homemade ḥallah, chicken piccata, empanadas, rice, tabouleh, various salatim, and orange cake.

Until next time,
shabbat shalom!
