Thus was finished all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting; and the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they (Ex 39:32)
The Torah doesn't say that "they did what God commanded", rather that they did "all that God commanded". Likewise further on, According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did all the work. And Moses saw all the work, and, behold, they had done it; as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it. And Moses blessed them. (Ex 39:42-43)
That is to say that they were precise in the performance of the construction of the Tabernacle, precisely as they were commanded. And this is a sign also for us, that through precise and full performance of the commandments, we too will be blessed as our forefathers were blessed.
