8thWiki stores page source as Markdown and renders it with 8th's native md:2html library.

Images

![Remote image](https://example.com/image.png)

In the page editor you can paste or drag an image directly into the editor. 8thWiki uploads it to the configured media directory and inserts the Markdown image reference at the cursor. Dropping or pasting a URL inserts a Markdown link; URLs that look like images are inserted with image syntax.

Code

Use backticks for inline code. Use three backticks on lines by themselves for a fenced code block.

Tables

| Name | Value |
| --- | ---: |
| Apples | 10 |
| Pears | 5 |

Tags

A standalone tag such as #recipes in normal prose is a tag. 8thWiki indexes tags separately from categories. Clicking a rendered tag opens the list of pages carrying that tag. A # at the beginning of a line remains Markdown heading syntax.

Editor Preview

The Preview tab sends the current Markdown to the server and renders it with the same md:2html path used for published pages, so the preview matches normal page rendering.
