February 27th (See this week's devar torah) | Comments or questions? Click here! |
First the good (excellent!) news: Esther came back from her trip, and is now enjoying our gently warming weather. She had a wonderful time with Daniela and Jeremy, but they have sub-zero (Celsius) temperatures, and Esther’s no longer prepared for that. We (Sarah and I) are extremely happy to have her back in our warm embrace! She’s also happy to be back home, though she misses “the kids”.
The less good news is that my mom ended up in the hospital this week. She was having trouble breathing, so Keith took her to the hospital and she was admitted and treated. Then Keith ended up in the hospital as well, where he was also admitted and treated. Both of them could use your prayers and kind thoughts. Mom is home now, Keith is supposed to follow soon.
I want to specifically thank my cousins who stepped up to help Mom and Keith. You know who you are!
In other news: Sarah and I survived being Esther-free for ten days. It was touch and go, but we made it, B”H.
With all the brouhaha surrounding Netanyahu’s speech in front of the US Congress, one might be lead to believe that Israel is the problem, and not maniacal Muslim regimes bent on jihad. One is put in mind that this coming week we celebrate purim, when a similarly genocidal Persian maniac got his comeuppance.
I made another release of 8th this week, and we started getting paying customers, which is very encouraging. Little by little, and with a lot of patience; slow and steady wins the race (or gets run over, not sure which).
It’s been a draining week, so I’m looking forward to shabbat and hearing parashat zakhor. Hoping for a quiet shabbat, even though we’ll have a house full of girls…
A full-house, with Esther back, as well as Sarah and her friends. The menu includes:
baked chicken,
red rice with mushrooms,
stuffed tomatoes,
green beans,
beet salad,
cabbage salad,
veggie cholent,
sweet and sour tofu,
and some kind of dessert.
Until next time,
shabbat shalom and purim sameaḥ!
