We didn’t do much this week to be quite honest. It’s Sukkoth, so we’ve mostly just been relaxing. Eating, and relaxing. And eating some more. In the booth. And visiting with friends. And shaking palm branches and mutant citrus like a maniac.

Our evening holiday meal was with friends, so while I haven’t a menu to report, we had a very pleasant evening and stayed out way past our bed-times.

For lunch, I did make a fine barbecue: lamb and sausages. Consuming grilled meats and good wine in the booth was a very satisfying experience.

Though it’s usually a very bad idea to try to drive anywhere during the “intermediate days” of the holiday, we did make a trip out to Ra’anana so Esther could acquire more yarn. Because we haven’t enough yarn, and we want to support the poor impoverished yarn-vendors of Israel.

Right.

Of particular interest:

It seems that we (Israel) and Hamas have reached an agreement, and that the hostages are supposed to be returned to us “Monday or Tuesday”. I am quite sceptical this will, in fact, take place; but if it does, it will be an incredibly important moment for us in Israel. And, if it does actually occur, President Trump surely will have deserved a Nobel Prize (or, perhaps, his son in law Jared Kushner does: he’s presumably the one who actually engineered it all). Of course, Trump will never be awarded a Nobel; let’s not be silly!

We will see. I’m trying to be optimistic despite my Evil Inclination.

Regarding my previous weeks’ reports on my “saga”: suffice it to say the situation seems to have returned to normal, and should there be anything to report, you’ll hear about it here, first!

This shabbat, the weather is supposed to be a bit warmer than it has been, but not extreme. We’ll still need the A/C though…

This shabbat we’ll try out:
homemade ḥalla, stuffed veggies, noodles, cholent, various salatim, and ice cream`.

Until next time,
shabbat shalom (and ḥag sameaḥ)!
