September 16th (See this week's devar torah) Comments or questions? Click here!

The weather this week was very pleasant, hopefully a harbinger of days to come. It was a very productive week in Casa Aaron, as we’ll detail.

But let’s start with a few news items:

<sigh>

We made a new release of 8th, which was very well received. One user commented, “Congratulations! A magnificent effort and one hell of a challenge for a pensioner”. I had to inform him that while I appreciate his kudos, and despite my sporting a continually thinning head of gray hair, I’m not yet a pensioner. Others also commented appreciatively about the new release, and some even paid for licenses! And we are getting noticed. So things are upbeat on that front.

Then, we started working on the “small” project. It’s an interesting bit of work, and entirely in 8th — so we’ll be able to use it as an example of a commercial product using our product. We hope to finish this particular project by the end of this month (before the holidays, that is).

And the Israeli company which was interested in having us work on a long-term project decided we should begin. So we started with them, though there are some administrative issues we still need clarified. They want to have us work at least “half-time”, which is interesting, because…

… another Israeli company called us up and is (very likely) interested in having us work at least “half-time”. So if they also end up signing with us, we’ll be very busy for at least the next six months. That’s not a bad thing, but it means we’ll really need to expand the number of people we have “on call”.

Esther’s been busy as usual: besides her abundant production of scarves, gloves, wraps, and woolen-wear of all sorts — she’s been busy at work. She might be taking on some additional work as well. I always did want to be a “kept man”, now’s my big chance!

As mentioned above, the weather’s been pleasant. It’s slated to remain that way through shabbat, but a heat-wave will start on Tuesday. Let’s hope that’s wrong, but the weather forecasts here are usually pretty accurate.

We’re pleased to see Dinah again this shabbat! We’ll feast upon:
baked chicken, homemade ḥallah, orzo, sesame tofu with green-beans, rice, beet salad, veggie chili, salatim, fruit, and surprises.

Until next time,
shabbat shalom!
