We exited shabbat last week to the news that four female hostages had been released. But the beasts of Hamas hadn’t released one woman, who they had previously said would be released that shabbat. So after some more “negotiation”, this Thursday another three Israelis, including the aforementioned woman as well as five Thai nationals who also were kidnapped on 07 Oct 2023, were released.
The sub-human garbage of Gaza made this third hostage release into a “ceremony” as before, but this time they outdid themselves for savagery and absolute terror. You’re invited to seek out the videos of the release and see the big brave Palestinian terrorists crowding around and terrorizing a young woman and an elderly man.
When I say “the sub-human garbage of Gaza”, I’m not referring solely to the actual Hamas or PIJ, etc., members. There are no innocents above the age of three in Gaza. It is a modern-day Sodom, and I pray sincerely that God mete out His ancient remedy on it.
The malignant growth which is Gaza must be excised.

- One of the female hostages kept shabbat and kashrut as best she could in captivity. Incredible fortitude.

I’ve slowly been improving (health wise, if not in other respects) and am only coughing up half a lung, from time to time. So there’s that. Esther, in the meantime, has remained mostly hale if not quite hearty. Sarah’s also on her way back to health, after a rather nasty flu. It’s been going around, apparently.
The weather should be decent for shabbat, though one never knows. It’s still warmer than it should be for January, and I really should get busy in the garden. But my excuse is that I’m still recuperating…
We’ve got guests for one meal this shabbat. The menu includes:
ḥallah,
pargiot,
roasted vegetable,
baked potatoes or yams,
steak and self-assembled salad,
various salatim,
fruit,
and cake.
